Not particularly useful advice given the context but he is not wrong -- the deeper you dig the more you realize Fedora is Linux done properly.

It is in the details. Red Hat tracks Linux development closely, but also implements them holistically. Systemd-based booting is one example: usually its a bash script, but RH and thus Fedora have it orchestrated properly (dracut). Many foundational pieces which are never seen by user are engineered for reliability.

In many other distros, including in NixOS which I use, the integration of software, the deeper you go, is a mess in which some parts are modern and some are not. This may cause weird errors over time, or less configuration than is generally possible. Only in Red Hat and Fedora does it seem coherent and up-to date.
