I'm not one to second guess tough decisions. You can't please everyone with a project this big. Founders will always be forced to balance the needs of stakeholders in ways that aren't always obvious.
That being said, self appointing people into a role as important and tedious as moderators, in the name of credible neutrality, in the midst of controversy was always going to have a rocky outcome. Burr's frustrations aren't new, but you put her in a position where she was responsible for the resolution of them, after removing her ability to address the problem she identified in the first place.
While you may not agree, there is something to what she is saying, and is was a missed opportunity responding with "everything is fine, don't let door hit you in the ass". You could have engendered much more confidence from her and a community that tracks every word you say. Unless ofc that's not a priority.
I don't interact with you, but have high regard for others in your orbit, so must assume good intentions ☮️ 0 reply
