The first is YOLOing sulfate aerosols into the stratosphere above Hill Country.  

The second is hide speed rail connecting Houston, Dallas, and Austin/SA.

Coming from a very strong blue state I have a really jaded view of big public works programs, when you have too strong of a relationship with public unions. The big dig in Boston comes to mind as well. Looking at how quickly things get built in Korean, Japan, and China the US has a lot to learn when it comes to public infra.
