Had similar thoughts lately. Almost all apps are made to capture our attentions as much as possible. We are often drawn into this “infinite loop” that we fear we could have missed sth important if we don’t check them often. Instead, all they do is just tear our focus apart from what really matters.

So much of what I’m forced to check in this infinite loop is… absolutely not important What am I doing? I find myself asking myself. I’m not feeling defeated- just feel like we can do so much more than this hyper attention hamster flywheel we’ve put ourselves on I think we want to get off

Unfortunate life circumstances prompted me to take a social media break for over a month. I can't begin to tell you how healing it was. Space expanded and time slowed down. I'd tried for months to implement some limits, but wasn't able to pull it off until after the break. Take the break!

Absolutely. What I do to resist now is to constantly remind myself two things: 1. Time is the most precious thing we have; 2. What is the one or two things that I really want to make it happen and am I focus enough? If not, fix it immediately.
