The most advanced user interface for AR /XR headsets aren’t made by a Silicon Valley tech company. They are the F-35 HMDS (helmet mounted display system) they cost almost $500K and have 360 view of the entire aircraft. Each helmet is custom fitted for the pilot, with sensors, display etc 

It is an engineering marvel

The F-16 (a fourth generation fighter) was first introduced in 1974 so yeah, that makes sense. It’s been in service for over 50 years and is going to be phased out by the F-35

The F-35 (fifth generation fighter) will be phased out by the sixth generation fighter. Probably sixth generation fighters will be some sort of autonomous stealth drone swarm + pilot combo. Less pilots, more autonomous stealth drones that act as extension of pilots
