The more finite a game is the more urgency and action you need

Most of the time issues arise from confusing the boundaries of the game - when you think the game is finite but it’s infinite and vice versa 

That being said - most of the time it usually stems from thinking it’s finite when it’s infinite - not the other way around

The finite hypothesis is indeed very often the biggest issue.
