Fun fact: do you know why so many sailors wore eye-patches? 

It's because they would burn their eyes using a sextant looking at the sun ww

I always thought it was because they went back and forth from the dark lower deck to the bright top deck and they wanted to have one eye adjusted to the light level. Must just be an old pirates tail... 🏴‍☠️

Yeah that’s one of the theories as well, I mean we don’t know for sure as there were prob many reasons (injury etc as well)

Also whether the eye patches were even a real thing or just a modern Hollywood trope 🤷
