Does anyone remember what the "main" branch is called on CVS ? Just came across a project on SVN, and working on *trunk*. I cannot explain why trying to remember how it is with CVS.

Trunk makes so much sense for SVN-like centralised technologies. So it would make sense for CVS too, but my mind refuses to tell whether this is right. Main makes so much sense for Git-like decentralised technologies. This is now a forest, no more tree, no more trunk to single out.

Subversion was such a good iteration over CVS-like systems. If Git did not come about, it'd be my choice. Yet any non-trivial repo was taking forever to *create* a branch and such kind of conceptually simple operations. Modern version control is a revolution, really humbling even today.
