you grow up and others / and the world convinces you that that's not the case, you have to struggle, we have limited resources, and limited time and whatever

Ever since Riva Tez posted this presentation (iirc it was for Praxis) it’s been my header

Once I’ve been to a traditional Japanese onsen the bottom sentence is going on my arm or hand

Resonates greatly coming from a rural place I think, being in love with the US and tech for the opportunities was looked down upon

creating and destroying; flying cars, roc.camera, july.rocks

Side note - you touched upon why I will most likely never get a large tattoo:

As with many things in japan, a lot of gray area :) 

But generally I don’t want to inconvenience and make the onsen owners feel awkward and have to call people out. Yes, in order to preserve the peace by not having a tattoo instead

It's more and more accepted. Side side note - I remember a friend of mine bathing with several band-aids supposed to cover her tattoos that were actually floating around her... I feel that was gross enough to make onsen owners be more open-minded :)
