Reading a book you don’t want to be reading is like dating a partner you don’t care to be in a relationship with - every interaction feels like a chore

I used to feel obligated to stick it out. But over time, I went from reading 1+ book per day to hardly anything at all. Now I let myself abandon books, or read 10 books at the same time, or read terrible trashy books instead of good ones. And although it feels a bit stressful, it has me back to reading again :)
