We are really close to fully starting manufacturing Roc Cameras on a day to day basis But it turns out the hardest part so far hasn't been the actual manufacturing or production of the device but prepping everything to get to the point where we can do that - that has taken a long time

It's almost like the machine that makes the machines needs to be debugged and properly calibrated and ready to go, before it can start pumping out machines. But the idea here is that making that happen takes a good amount of time It's sort of like - manufacturing / production is a product in and of itself that you have to build. I underestimated how much this is a product

i think the same point is mentioned in one of the elon biographies the hard part wasn’t making the car, it was scaling the process that makes the car make some vids of the WIP, would love to get some sneak peaks!

Yeah and similar concepts from the Tokyo Production System and lean manufacturing, and What that is to hardware manufacturing, DevOps is to software manufacturing Keep at it @july - the obstacles are the path 🫡

Appreciate it! Yeah been reading books about TPS. It’s odd, in the sense that it’s common sense? But cool things too, and things I didn’t think about before.

Common sense but I totally understand why it’s not necessarily intuitive or natural to think about it. We naturally focus on the product or the outcome.
