Space

emissions/pollution as a side effect of human progress is a recurring problem, which eventually becomes an impediment to that progress. 

The optimistic perspective is that once we recognize this as a fundamental pattern, we can start to bake in mitigations if we can get the coordination piece right.

I have a deep sense of romanticism about the oceans, forests, glaciers and earth in general that makes me sad about pollution.

No such feelings about space, I'm purely interested in it as a resource/destination. Disperse enough debris, and we just won't be able to use space anymore.

Interesting for me to see a context where my environmentalism is solely pragmatic rather than romantic.

a) its personal - to you and i like hearing stories that are personal to you
b) its personal to me - i do feel an affinity with the ocean
c) its different perspective: i am excited and interested about space, and its a different perspective which i appreciate
