Not necessarily about shit-talking per se, but was thinking the other day about how "calling your shots" in general may be useful for leadership.  It can give others a clear idea of the action and goal, so they can cohere around it together and try to make it happen.

clarity in a goal + meaningfulness of the goal is probably the most difficult thing to do and most impactful in accomplishing what you said first

A tricky thing is that we ACT on proximate goals while aiming for end goals

I’ve found that it’s really hard for a large group of people to keep multiple goals in mind at same time (even if one is proximate to an agreed end goal)
