Saying rituals don’t matter, is like saying the taste of food doesn’t matter because it all ends up in your stomach anyway - you are not wrong, but well, you’re missing the message

Let me more specific by what I mean when I say ritual:

creating and destroying; built flying cars & autonomous vehicles, now building /faust, more here: /july, web: july.rocks

Pondering with intention the last few years a general lack of healthy male rites of passage rituals. There’s a lot of toxic stuff and a real lack of meaningful community for young men and men in the western world

Yeah but the coming age ceremony in Japan is kinda crazy but not in that way. Some of them look like this:

Japan is so far ahead of the U.S. in terms of culturally purposeful ritual la that actually help people.

I am reminded of the “dismissing the soldier” following the world war to help those men who served receive honor and move forward
