It's interesting that he believes a project's success is about 95% luck. Sometimes, all you need is the right timing, and you're off to the races.

A couple of good early decisions help (whether luck or not). A couple of bad decisions can cause damage. Important to do more (important) things more often right than wrong.

Sometimes it‘s attributed to luck what can also be described as gut feeling or learned decision-making. The better one is, the more resourceful one is, the harder one works, the more can be achieved without luck. Nevertheless a lot of luck is needed. I doubt it‘s 95% but even a few lucky coincidences can move the needle.
