im cutting out coffee to see what happens. background - ~10y of 2 espresso a day (300mg caffeine). - i sleep fine, avg 7.5h a day - i love coffee & look forward to it. but... - i do get headaches - i often feel lethargic - hunch it prevents deep work, just accelerates rapid ctx switching. updating this thread daily

day 1 (2 days ago) - 7am got single shot instead of double - 1pm had half a cup instead of full - mild headache 1/2 reduction

day 2 (today, day 1 was yesterday not 2d ago oops) - 7am single shot spro instead of double - 1pm full cup of decaf @ switch, was hella good actually. felt dead from 2ish, headache from 4pm on. 2/3 reduction caffeine. no fun.

day 3/4/5 single spro in the morning, decaf in the afternoon. seem over the hump now, no more headaches in the afternoon. energy seems fine. I’ve been drinking a lot more water at the same time 3L. haven’t noticed any changes with sleep. Always sleep good.

I love decaf. When I drink coffee during downtime, like weekends, it's always decaf. That way, I can make my caffeine count right before hacking on something.
