I consider myself to be pretty tech saavy, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how Google Analytics works. It is a remarkably unintuitive product.

I would recommend https://plausible.io/ as an alternative. If you want more user behavior tools (funnels, recordings, click paths, etc) https://posthog.com/
