The existential pleasure of snuggling with toddlers is not a big enough part of our public discourse.

I have 2 toddlers, the older brother is 3 years old, and the younger sister is 2 months old. It's very rare for my wife and I to show off our happiness on social media. we call it protection for children from the dangers of social media. because we know not everyone likes other people's happiness.

I totally get this and honestly am not a big social media person myself. 

Though I do think that especially in tech heavy places like Farcaster, a bit of humanity is good :)

I share stories from time to time, of both the struggles and triumphs.

If it's just discourse, I think it's normal, we just don't upload photos of our children. even my parents and siblings asked "why is that". we just answered "if you want to see our child, come to our house".

on social media, we are aware and alert, there is an invisible evil eye, we just anticipate it. 

as parents, that's our obligation, maybe many people don't agree with us, but we do it for the good of all, for the people around us, especially for our children.

I don’t post pictures of my kid publicly much either, for privacy preserving reasons.

We have a separate private shared photo album on Google photos we share with close family. It works great.

Yes, that's what we have to do as parents. but many people don't realize it, they keep showing off photos of their family, especially on Facebook (which I often see), they don't realize the negative impact of what they are doing, for some reason without a clear reason, suddenly the child becomes sick, fussy. 

sounds strange, but it's actually like that.

I don’t think I get what your alluding to, why would they get sick or fussy from that?

I’ve thought about it yes, I don’t believe our thoughts can impact others.

There’s no strong basis for any actual energy being transmitted between others and I find the ideas in science generally reliable.

I do think people have an “energy” in a casual sense. But that any feeling one person gives another is the brain processing their sight, sound, touch and so on.

If I did believe that though, it would be difficult for me to also believe that it can be transmitted digitally through a screen to the recipient or travel very far distances. I think most public figures would be deathly sick if that were true.

My roommate used to sage the apartment regularly, often after purchasing something. She explained that objects bring good and bad energy with them, the sage fixes it. I never understood how she could tell which had which.

Overall I feel I’d have to reject my own experience of the world to believe it.

Why do you believe it?

Have you ever heard about how the energy of the mind works? thoughts radiate energy, what you think, that energy goes there. 

If other people's thoughts are good, they will become good energy, but if those thoughts are evil, they will become evil energy. 

not everyone likes our happiness, some of them are jealous, they send bad energy to us, so sometimes without realizing it we feel "we feel bad, uncomfortable, suddenly stressed" actually this is a form of bad energy that leads to to us. 

Try to conclude for yourself, what will happen to children if bad energy is directed at children?

because you don't know, it would be very long if I explained the truth.
