The existential pleasure of snuggling with toddlers is not a big enough part of our public discourse.

I have 2 toddlers, the older brother is 3 years old, and the younger sister is 2 months old. It's very rare for my wife and I to show off our happiness on social media. we call it protection for children from the dangers of social media. because we know not everyone likes other people's happiness.

sounds like a beautiful family! I totally get this and honestly am not a big social media person myself. Though I do think that especially in tech heavy places like Farcaster, a bit of humanity is good :) I share stories from time to time, of both the struggles and triumphs.

If it's just discourse, I think it's normal, we just don't upload photos of our children. even my parents and siblings asked "why is that". we just answered "if you want to see our child, come to our house". on social media, we are aware and alert, there is an invisible evil eye, we just anticipate it. as parents, that's our obligation, maybe many people don't agree with us, but we do it for the good of all, for the people around us, especially for our children.
