what's the ideal information diet? indexing on medium, i'm something like this now: • 10% books: audiobooks on biographies • 10% podcasts: business, startups, boxing • 0% periodicals • 80% social media: wc/x/reddit • 1% blogs • 1% streaming video i'd like to be: • 60% books • 10% podcasts • 10% periodicals • 4% social media • 15% blogs • 1% streaming video there's at least a few other dimensions though.

My social media is very high at the moment but I don’t want it as low as 4% I might even be ok as high as 50-60% I’m on a book spree atm, but it comes in waves - feast or famine

my issue is i dont have much self control over the algorithms & reengagement loops. they're too good and eventually win. I wish I could tease apart socializing with people, which i love, from the algorithms. group chats get part of the way there but aren't a full blown town square.

X for you feed has become a complete and utter time waste for me. Devoid of any brain nutrition. I need to do some work to curate lists and following again bc I really did love Twitter for making me smarter. And yes I get sucked into scrolling when I’m better off reading. For the most part Farcaster *content* isn’t making me smarter, but the people are, if that makes any sense
