Yesterday, one of our walk ons - who was a manager for 3 years, crowd chants for him to get in a game - gets in game at the end of our Maryland win, gets an offensive rebound and scores - got a 10K scholarship. Nobody knew it was happening, he came out of locker room as we all went from film room to start of practice

To cameras at center court. Coach huddled the team around - no one knew exactly what was about to transpire - and he was awarded the 10K scholarship with his parents there. Players celebrated around him & went nuts. Always cool to see someone who works hard and is loved get rewarded. Sponsored by Walk-Ons restaurant

So cool! My son (9) has started playing basketball this past year and Iβve been telling him how if he works hard and dedicates, even if heβs not some superstar athlete, it could lead to amazing opportunities and maybe even help pay for his education. Excited to show him this to reinforce the importance of working hard and not giving up. Thank you for sharing!
