4. l2s i still dont really understand what an l2 is and why it matters that its an l2 and why so many launch all the time also dont get if youre meant to be loyal to chains and layers as a creator ive created on tiktok, instagram , youtube etc so why should i only create on one chain or layer ? just wondering if layers want loyalty or more users

L2s just scald cheaper gas fees in summary, transacting on ETH mainnet is quite expensive.

Because of ethereums open source which encourages innovation and experimentation. Various L2s have different architectures and trade offs

and what is the end goal? for different l2s to serve different people like how there are different bank cards for mastercard?

Different L2s can be driven toward a specific creative vision. For example, Sony just launched its own L2, and it's allegedly in an attempt to facilitate creators (musicians, et cetera) connecting with fans, for example. It's a permissioned L2 (the deployment of meme coins there is inhibited, for example) that Sony wants to maintain control of while leveraging the security of rolling up transaction history to Ethereum mainnet (and also collecting fees on transactions, presumably).
