I don't understand the negativity. 

We're giving the top 100 casters $5 in USDC every day. No other conditions or gotchas. Just a small thank you for contributing something valuable. 

We also tried to make the algorithm more friendly to smaller accounts (by normalizing followers).

There is a psychological aspect to monetizing work. If a friend helps me move into a place and I reward them with a six pack of beer, that hits differently than if I pay them $12.

That said, the dynamic of social media is different. Maybe it's because I'm not concerned with the ROI of my casts (and, if I were, hoo, boy, I'm a bad investment), but I don't feel like a person should cast / tweet / post for the expectation of direct compensation. 

Not saying people won't try to farm, but the qDAUs aren't likely to drop off because they didn't get enough free money.
