Is it possible $5 reward does more harm than good? 100 people get it every day which means thousands of DAU are not getting it. The 100 people might feel good and maybe it gets them to cast more, but is it at the cost 1000s feeling not good enough and casting less? I don’t know the answer and it’s just an experiment 🤷♀️

Cast to earn is not a viable approach to social media, in my opinion, and I say that to mean that if you're only casting for the occasional 5 USDC bump then your approach to the "social" aspect of "social media" feels like it's driving for the wrong thing. I don't send my friends funny memes with the hopes that they'll pay me for the laughs I inspire.

I don’t disagree but that assumes we are already friends. Engaging with more casts and being paid for it is rewarding for those who are not irl or online friends (yet) bc it seems like it highlights when I have casts that have had real engagement (ie comments or recasts) - which feels like it’s very in line with the foundation of blockchain but I don’t know -

I am having trouble responding, and I think it's because I don't understand why content can't be considered engaging if it doesn't receive the 5 USDC.

Also consider it this way: it’s sponsoring my participation in the economy. I wasn’t a crypto supporter until my ex got me here, and bc of my own sheer interest have I met people who I like here. And it’s nice that my content is rewarding enough for me to maybe swap $5 usdc for some other crypto. Maybe I’m naive but this is thinking bigger
