Been thinking of experimenting with the Ellipal wallet (https://www.ellipal.com/), which seems to integrate with Metamask via QR code scanning (to achieve air-gapped private key storage).

Anyone know what standard that uses? I was looking at EIP-945, but it never seemed to get officially adopted. Trying to figure out, if I were to put any crypto of serious amount in this, how much trouble I'd be in if Metamask dropped support for the QR code scanning function this leverages.

Use Rabby and Keystone HW wallet if you want good QR code scanning experience

I bought a similar wallet, Keystone https://keyst.one/ (not an endorsement, dyor, I haven't even tried it yet lol) - wonder if it uses the same QR code scheme under the hood

I would anticipated it does - how many QR code scanning implementations is Metamask going to maintain in its software? 

(that said, the answer could be "a lot")
