makes me wonder, in crypto any onchain financialized content can be totally removed from its original context

we think of blockchains as having provenance but in cultural conversations the original, intended meaning is often secondary to the reaction

to be clear, I'm not against the original art — I'm against Jesse using it to promote Base under the auspices of his job as a Coinbase executive

to use a somewhat dramatic comparison, Trump was not wrong, factually, when he said "And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. ... Grab 'em by the pussy."

like that isn't incorrect, but it's still not okay that he said it. whereas it would be different if that were written on a graffiti canvas in some punk gallery. the context matters
