Video and longer casts are both examples of stuff people ask for and then don't use very often. 

Ultimately both were worth adding, but stated vs. revealed preference strikes again.

Sometimes competitive-parity is a necessary evil.

+ I don’t know that usage stats for something like long casts is a good indicator of value. Not every cast needs to be an essay, but knowing it’s possible is… nice?

it used to take some brain power to maintain an engaging conversation in 320 characters 

i think long casts will be better in the long term, but the conversation vibe needs to recover first

... although nothing beats a voice note... 

is there a social app that lets its users drop voice notes in the feed?

I haven’t used it in years, but “the new Clubhouse” has asynchronous audio messaging… in private groups though, so, similar to Messages on iOS.
