I don’t think people have internalized this and I will hammer it as hard as I can. I will never forget being told by the CTO at my last job he thought I was too dumb to read “Diaspora” by Greg Egan (a fiction sci fi book) seemingly only because he perceived me as non technical and therefore stupid in all other ways. I would like to see software engineering salaries deflate by 50% or more. We don’t need them or their hopeless arrogance anymore
