great catch! running a quick search, i think the hallucinations come from inaccurate page previews of paywalled articles.

to put a bit more effort into it, here are some reasonably successful consumer-oriented companies from batches in the last 5 years that i believe are still in operation. there are a lot of non-consumer successes, and there are even more non-US success stories - i suggest anyone interested take a look, there are a lot of great examples
