We've got 150 daily active users in /stokefire. We have a kernel of something that is working. Now I just need to keep building, iterating, listening to players and making it better.

big congrats man today my village almost died. and that made me think how psychologically hard it would be to start all over from scratch, which I would probably not do how have you thought about this? how to motivate people to come back after this happened?

Yeah, I think a couple of things. I'm going to give an option to buy a 1up or extra life in case that does happen. 2. probably going to make it so you have a less harsh punishment with a little more time to stoke afterwards.

it would be cool -as a player- to be able to save other people's villages. i think that can create a game changer mechanic, in terms of altruism or even some wicked things like changing the timer of other people by stealing their fire or whatnot. it may bring complexity, yes, but it can also bring a powerful social dynamic

Yeah, that's an interesting idea. definitely like the idea of people helping each other.

and also being mean to each other imo. im thinking of the book "the pillars of earth". of ken follet (i read it like 10 years ago). but i will never forget the mfer that raided cities and burnt them into ashes. that kind of meanness triggers deep human emotions, and it has the potential to make the game fun af imho
