Tried to onboard people to crypto / Base / ETH over the weekend at a wedding with different levels of success. 

Will dive deeper into the results but there was one overwhelming theme. 

“Isn’t that all a scam” 

How do we fix this overall sentiment towards crypto?

there is also not a “straightforward” approach to onboarding that feels smooth and not overwhelming imho

Agreed, I would lose people after moving away from BTC and then lose them even more when trying to breakdown an L2.

I'm not good at onboarding, never have been. 

It was dependent on the person and what their intial reaction was, but either stablecoins (showing permissionless value transfer) or NFTs.
