i often medidate for 16 minutes right after waking up and the tricky part about it is that since i haven’t done anything “practical” for that day my mind starts projecting all these thoughts of things that i want to do and ideas that feel much much more fun than sitting there just observing those ideas coming and going without doing something with them and it gets hard to keep sitting because i feel like a strong urge to say just “fuck this” and get up and make myself a coffee and open my computer and start doing stuff but that is the moment on which i remember that the whole goal of the practice is to discover how to develop a relationship of non-identification to the process of thoughts happening inside me and i make the effort to give up any effort and get into the state of just releasing any sort of tension that could come as a consequence of wanting to do something different from what im doing or wanting life to be different from what it is and i often end up the session observing that gm
