what is a quantum gate? have you ever experienced through your awareness?

Never experienced through my awareness but have thought / dreamed about them a lot if that counts?
They are basically the quantum gates transform the states of qubits allowing quantum computing to work at a fundamental level, without them we would not be rapidly approaching the singularity!
