What does this word salad mean? "those critics are almost more biased and less intelligent and honest than those they attack" - is he saying they're less biased but also less intelligent and less honest? Or they're less biased, more intelligent and more honest?

He also dismissed an entire book by just reading the table of contents; if he read the book he'd know it wasn't that the NYT "got it wrong" but played an active role in the atrocities they (didn't) cover - i.e. covering for Stalin and Hitler and Castro

Where should I get my news from? Up till now my response has been “individuals/blogs/anons I trust, roughly from the rationalist-adjacent sphere” But they cover a narrow range of topics, and Rich is saying they may not be that much better

I think it's a fair take that practically it can make sense to read the MSM to get some more variety and try to compensate for the bias yourself. Personally I've started trying out https://www.boringreport.org/ and I've perused AP to get closer to the reporting without the opinion
