Just logged into Twitter and my timeline showed me 3 fights, 2 scams, and a guy arguing with himself. Came back to Warpcast for the vibes and less rage-induced scrolling.

I wake up every day thinking about how to bring a billion people onchain, and the reality is we can’t do that by continuing to only onboard people who are already interested in crypto. we have to expand the pie and to do that, i think the answer is all of the above. the mission is to build a global onchain economy that includes all of us. payments is a great example of how getting onchain can improve people’s lives. I saw firsthand when traveling around the world last year how important foreign exchange and international payments are for people to tap into a global economy. local currency stablecoins and fast, cheap onchain payments solve a clear problem for a lot of people: they are near-instant instead of taking days, and cost less than a penny (in USD) as opposed to 3% or 50 USD or more. onchain finance, social, entertainment, music, art, gaming, content… all of it can improve people’s lives by putting control into the hands of builders and creators rather than centralized corps.

it's coming soon! we've spent the last few months rebuilding @coinbasewallet from the ground up to be 10x faster, while shifting its focus to really lean into solving this problem of discovery and distribution. after someone buys their first coin, if they are curious about what else to do or what applications to check out, it’s not obvious what they should do next. so we're integrating a farcaster social feed, with mini-apps, directly into @coinbasewallet and then making it incredibly easy for users to discover onchain experiences without ever leaving the app. i talked more about this in this video: https://x.com/CoinbaseWallet/status/1886822569334181966. and we'll be sharing more updates next week at farcon!

we just launched base batches (basebatches.xyz), which has 4 themes: AI, stablecoins, miniapps, and consumer). i'd love to see builders build more things in these domains. so much opportunity. join batches if you're a builder looking for the support to go from zero to one.

we’re rebuilding Coinbase Wallet from the ground up, including incorporating the full farcaster social feed, and mini-apps that you can interact with directly within the feed. it's starting to roll out very soon! i think the powerful thing about adding this to coinbase wallet is we'll be able to meet existing customers where they are. this helps give apps more distribution and helps users find apps they might be interested in. i think that's going to drive more engagement for builders like the ones reading this, which i'm really excited about.

we have no plans to issue a new network token and base leverages ETH as the native asset for gas. the #1 thing i'm focused on right now is building a great product that works really well for builders (who create apps) and people + businesses (who use them).

Should we have a single address for everything? 1. The average new user doesn't care. They just care if it works. In the near term auth addresses should make "it just work" for mini apps both on web and in other apps, e.g. Recaster or Coinbase wallet 2. There are nice properties for for having different addresses. a) Creating a new custody address means a pre-existing wallet isn't required to sign up. This especially important in consumer apps and on mobile. b) Auth addresses remove the need to have users move seed phrases between apps. This is clunky and bad security UX (for most users). c) Not all users 1) want 2) can be supported for a spending wallet d) Verified (i.e. connected addresses) allow you to import reputation and other information to Farcaster, e.g. token-gating. 3. In the longer term, I could see the argument for combining custody addresses and spending wallets, esp. once 7702 happens and it's easy to upgrade everything to smart wallets.
