How Cobie Ignored Messages from a Follower and Potentially Lost $100M 🥲 

Twitter user Cobie wrote about his missed opportunity with the Bittensor project.

On December 20, 2021, he received a message:

"Hi, I want to tell you about an amazing project right off the bat, because I respect you a lot: take a look at the Bittensor project's Gitbook. I was told that DCG and Polychain are investors and bought TAO at $12.5 per coin. The founders took a page from Satoshi’s book and stepped back from influencing the project, didn’t do any pre-mining, and are mining $TAO for themselves."

On January 7, 2022, this same follower updated the information:

"I launched Bittensor nodes; mining machine models gives a small emission of $TAO. I bought a lot of TAO, delegating to validators and earning significantly more from it."
