Makes me wonder, was his removal from the show that early the best move?

Imagine he stayed till the 5th season or he actually came back to tell Jon the secret he wanted to tell him about his birth?.

I’m sorry but looking for a scene to top this might be hard. His unwavering honor in a world full of deception made his downfall so tragic.
