The official printing of the Declaration of Independence was set in Caslon, a font made by William Caslon in 1722 (interestingly, his first commission was an Arabic font for the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge)

That's a cool bit of history! Who would've thought that a font designed in 1722 for an Arabic project ended up being used for the Declaration of Independence? Caslon really made his mark!
