Playing guitar for my own joy but regret not diving into theory. After years, my fretboard knowledge is still lacking. What led to your biggest leap in playing improvement? What's the single most impactful thing that has influenced your playing?

Avid enthusiast in cryptocurrencies, economics, gaming and flyfishing. Dunno enough yet.

Exercises from my bass teacher:

Chromatically play and say every note on your fretboard
Find all Cs, find all C#s, find all Ds, etc for all notes
major scales - say each note as you play it, be able to play scales starting with open string
same for minor scales
now major and minor arpeggios - say each note etc.
