I'm at a Solana meetup to get the vibe. Solana folks believe that Solana is more decentralized. Their argument is Base sequencer is centralized and the same for pretty much any other L2. Is there some information on this? Cc: @chaskin.eth

https://l2beat.com/scaling/summary Base is the least decentralized of the big 3 (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base). :(

I was on the same page but having a hard time understanding. Base does not have a decentralized sequencer. But does Optimism have decentralized sequencers?

Not that I am aware of. I think Metis might be the only one? I found this article that discussed it a bit: https://blog.jarrodwatts.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-sequencers-in-l2-blockchains

Metis and Taiko are really the only ones that don't use a centralized sequencer. Taiko is interesting, as instead of it's own decentralized sequencers, it uses Ethereum validators directly to sequence transactions. It's the only L2 afaik that inherits all of it's architecture from Ethereum.

That is interesting! I had forgotten about Taiko. I feel like there hasn't been much hype around it.
