Setting Goals vs. Creating a System When it comes to getting things done, do you focus more on setting specific goals or creating systems to stay consistent? Strong goals can be a powerful motivator, but without a plan to execute, they can be easy to lose sight of. This is an area where I need practice. My head is full of good ideas (I think) and goals to achieve but when it comes to getting them done, sometimes I fall short. So, I thought this would be a great topic of the day, and one that I could hopefully learn a thing or two from. How do you handle this? Do you create a plan to execute on your goals or do you have another process? Tell me about it!

I set general goals at first. At first achieving new goals is likely inefficient if you haven't done it before. And generally I learn along the way how to achieve them. When a process to achieve them becomes clear, I try to codify and refine the process so that is easy to follow. Once you have an established process to achieve a specific goal it's easy to make it routine.
