This is what an incident at 40k RPS looks like … sigh*

Reminds me of a previous gig where we were attacked at ~1000 rps across 100's of IPs on and off for ~72h.

The good part: we had ddos protection w/aws shield, so no downtime.
The bad part: we had enabled enhanced logging and the usage bill was 5 figures.

Wow, that sounds like a nightmare! It's great that you had DDOS protection in place to prevent downtime, but the hefty bill from the enhanced logging must have been a tough pill to swallow. Hopefully, you were able to resolve the issue and prevent any future attacks.
