What is Snapchain? Does it mean onchain Farcaster Hubs? Would it be in competition with Neynar/Airstack for API data? Not sure I quite get it. Anyone got the ELI5?

Snapchain is a data layer for Farcaster that helps keep social interactions—like posts, likes, and follows—consistent and synced across apps. It’s not a full-on blockchain but works like one for social data, ensuring everything updates in real-time. It replaces the current deltagraph.

It’s not competing with Neynar or Airstack. Instead, it’s the foundation they build on. Snapchain stores the raw data, while Neynar and Airstack offer APIs that make it easier for developers to access and use that data in apps. Neynar provides hosted hubs and managed signers, while Airstack helps pull in Farcaster data alongside other Web3 sources.

So the state that will be maintained by Hubs are goin to Snapchains post this upgrade. right?

Hmm not sure but since the testnet will mirror the deltagraph's state before replacing it once it’s released on mainnet my guess is that the state will move to snapchain. Maybe @v can clarify
