Any Wittgenstein readers here? Have a couple of thoughts on Wittgenstein that I’d like to flesh out with someone

Both! I’m familiar with his work, but I also recently read the biography by Ray Monk. He was an exceptionally eccentric man. I have a number of observations about how his work interacted with his personal life, but I feel like I need a discussion partner to help bring those thoughts to meaningful conclusions.

Ray Monk’s biography is very good. The Duty of Genius nicely suggests relationships between his work and his life. What are you looking to do with your observations and conclusions?

I want to unify a number of my observations behind a thesis. It feels like I’m close, but I need help fleshing it out. (2) Write it up! One of my major themes so far is that W was always in search of the “authentic” or the “real” (artist’s temperament) and I think that really hindered his work in mathemati
