Some readers may find it strikingly familiar: • Protests framed as foreign-instigated attempts at a “leftist” revolution • Protesters stripped of personal agency and genuine grievances, and portrayed as puppets of foreign agendas • The government weaponizes fear, e.g. branding protests as chaos https://edmo.eu/publications/the-authoritarian-playbook-how-governments-in-georgia-slovakia-and-serbia-employ-similar-disinformation-narratives-and-tactics-against-protests/

Georgia remains in a state of political crisis. The government is pursuing what it calls a “pragmatic” policy, which in reality distances the country from European integration despite over 80% of the population supporting EU membership. The protests continue.
