The value of something is what someone is wiling to pay for it. 
Free mint, 1 ETH it doesn’t matter. The buyer will decide if they want it and what they’re willing to pay for it.

Yes but how does this affect the value in the eyes of the collectors? What about established galleries who take supply into consideration?

They would def not, which is why I think artists who aspire to get into galleries should be very careful with that and have a long term plan. 

i think we need to take NFTs outside the community personally (its way too small) otherwise they might not survive.

The problem is NFTs are so cyclic and are tied to the ups and downs of the crypto market. 

I personally think you just can’t relate them to traditional art. It’s so a niche. 

I don’t think traditional galleries would even consider minting free editions. Have you heard any that are doing it?
