needs to be thought of as an exposure thing imo seeing a free/cheap NFT in my wallet brings more joy than others i paid way too much for

@petravoice had a huge OE mint, not free but that's the best example i can think of off the top i see a lot of based ppl rocking her pfps i think it would be easier to get a read if more artists made free mints. would easily see who is getting the most attention

Wasnt that from the attention she got from that Twitter drama months ago though? Where another artist who copied her work but in painting started attacking her for using AI and she sold a bunch of art after?

i mean that by using this attention with a mint that was easily accessible, it created a huge onchain effect onchain attention should matter more than social media likes etc i think from a financial standpoint it doesn't make sense for someone to do until it does petras case is one in a million

Yeah I agree i prefer focusing on selling my art than my engagement. Im mostly concerned with how it could devalue our art, especially if your goal is to get represented by galleries because supply will matter. Def not something I thought about when I joined the community in 2021.

but if it's separate collections that shouldn't hurt your mains, could only bring in new eyes (and wallets) my suggestion to artists would be to just have fun with it the blockchain is your gallery. im just a trader but ive heard horror stories about some of those types of businesses, even the upmarket traditional ones. make VCs look like angels
