do web dev they said. its lightweight and fast reload they said. next.js litterally destroying my cpu right now, and compiling a damn page locally takes longer than my entire rust lib compilation 😀😀😀

If youre using Turbopack switch to webpack its actually faster lmao Also if youre on Mac maybe see if you can get a Linux machine? Maybe a cloud one? Next dev server recent versions have had major issues with mac/arm compatibility

Yeah FWIW you'll see a much bigger improvement likely moving away from ARM(mac) than turbo to webpack. Its gonna be faster but not enough to not be annoying Last I dealt with it I had 60 seconds hot reload on turbo pack, 20-25s on webpack. Still very annoying
