This is now one of my all time favourite blog posts. I found it extremely insightful and relatable, thank you.

I giggled a tiny bit that this post - with which I agree a lot - brushes ever-so-slightly alongside the rhetoric of Tyler Durden about materialism and consumerism from Chuck Palahniuk's "Fight Club", and then I read this line in the article:

"We didn't stop at soap."

(acknowledging that your writing and Durden's rhetoric diverge quite hard after that point)
