Love the idea of the permapool. What if fees only funded *people*, not projects. Like Protocol Guild but for Higher. A community-governed UBI for those doing Higher-aligned work. The community/a committee decides on a case-by-case basis who should be a part of the guild and receive the stream of income. If you're no longer doing Higher-aligned work for X period of time, you're removed from the stream. You can be added back if you start again. Maybe it starts with 5 folks, and we add 1 new person to the stream every month? Just riffing here, but I like the idea of funding people instead of projects. We need to fund leaders who dedicate time and energy to Higher in many different ways.

Agree! Funding projects as an idea has been exhausted for so long. We've never really tried funding people. Also makes sense for current times where projects may need to be ephemeral/dynamic/fluid and in general less well-defined. Even more, just defining a project in a way that's rigorous enough to get funded can be an annoying overhead and slows down creators/builders.

Don’t like the permapool, could get much more capital pooled if it was not a permanent donation. But this might be a great case for a uni v4 hook. You could LP and direct fees to the person you’re sponsoring/accelerating

i think also funding projects is 1 dimensional: rewarding behaviour directly which is good but doesn’t promote serendipity funding people means building isn’t the only action rewarded. community building, riffing ideas, being a part of the community

This is an inspirational idea that touches on a valid point. Yes, computer projects are complicated and require teams. But, there are some contributions that can only be made by individual consistent thought. I think there should be a way to reward that like you said. The devil is in the details. Governance will be the most difficult piece. I don’t think a committee should decide this, but rather readers or people who engage with the content.
